brought my tournament list including culuxis assassin which i had high hopes for in a game vs this many elite casters. Deployment went my way and i recieved first turn, but despite having the abiloity to premeasure, i did a piss poor job getting my full army in position to shoot on the first turn, including not moving my wraithknight 4 inches so he could shoot at landed demon princes, 3 scat bike squads were also poorly moved (in an effort to stay in the void shield area of effect), this error proved devestating.
There really wasnt much going positive for me this game, FMC are very effective at limiting scat bikes and it held true for today. my assassin failed to kill the slaanesh DP through 8 rounds of combat despite only needing a single 6 to slay his opponent after a dozen hits, my wraithknight had a golden opportunity to kill his Tzeentch Warlord but failed to even cause a single wound through melee or 3 stomps (and was wiped out in 1 round by a rear charging khorne DP), and scat bikes are terrible vs Psychic shriek and all 3 FMC had it.. Pregame i thought i had the tools to limit the magic a bit, and the assassin did prevent a couple magic phases from being moree powerful than they could have been, but when my second HQ killed himself on the second turn when he twice periled (he had a spell to give me a nice fearless bubble and adamantium will), i knew i was in trouble, and i was. Im not sure ill bring the assassin again, its not he was useless, and he should have slain the slannash DP he died to, its just with his 6 inch movement i cant have him where he needs to be to cancell 1 turn of key buffs. Maybe ill look into 2 squads of sisters of silence instead. Fun game though, even in defeat.
