So far, this list functioning at 1500 or 1750 pts has been doing quite well. I deep strike everything I can and hit one flank hard. The two tactical squads and dreadnought can form a fire base around the Aegis, or break into combat squads and take some objectives. The biggest problem I've had with the list so far has been taking out armour, so I may be adding a few more melta bombs here and there.
This is the list you played in our last game, wasn't it? It's a superb list. I totally love that you have your own "special rules" for these guys. Especially since you apply them when it really wasn't helpful.
I can't wait to see more of em painted up 'cause the conversions are excellent.
Your memory of the rule was right. You put a model in contact with an access point and then move up to six inches away from the transport. The kicker is that difficult terrain rolls are made as appropriate. That's where I messed up.
I really liked the Icarus: the quad gun's definitely better against light aircraft and probably most MCs, but against armour 12 stuff (heldrakes, valkries) the Icarus is the way to roll. Also, I don't have a lot of anti-armour right now, so the Icarus helps on that front. I'm going to convert one up when I get the chance.
