Sigh, I've been waiting, and waiting and......... waiting on Privateer Press to release a unit attachment or solo or something that made Cinerators worth using over Bastions. After a year and a half of waiting and nothing, I finally bit the bullet and just decided to convert them to Bastions. I really was hoping to use them as is since I love the models. Oh well, here goes. Lot's of people have done this conversion and done it a few different ways. This seemed the best way and I first saw the idea in...
Greetings, my gamer friends! I’m learning so much about what I don’t know during the leagues. First off, submitting battle results for the Swiss Style Leagues is a serious pain in the ass. Especially when using a mobile device. Even I was frustrated by the process and I made the silly thing. So that’s gotta be fixed. I also kicked over the round on the Brimstone league and found a glaring error: People should not play the same folks – at least not two rounds in a row. *sigh. Need to fix that too! So I’m continuing the improvements around the War Zone stuff and tightening it all up. I’m also...
Crikey! It’s been a crazy week in front of the monitors at Studio Sizzly. iToysoldiers has a bunch of things going on based largely on the feedback I’ve gotten from the two (count ‘em, TWO) leagues we’re running right now. Most of it surrounds UI improvements but there’s some back end stuff as well. Let me see if I can do an adequate job of summarizing what the highlights are after I wish good luck and good gaming to my Warmachine/Hordes friends who’re participating in “I Don’t Know. Fight Casual”. It’s iToysoldiers very first sponsored league to test the Casual League functionality. Good...
Greetings, my mini addicted friends! This week falls into the “I know it doesn’t look like it, but absolute tonnes has been done on the site” category. So the first week of the Brimstone league is in progress and the first game has been played. I even got to watch someone struggle through my convoluted UI to submit their game. That made me sad ‘cause it shouldn’t be as hard as it is. There were too many clicks to get to where you need to be in order to submit league results. “What we need is a dashboard for each player. A single page where all the stuff they need to do/see is located. That...
Whew! I have been a busy, busy, busy lil’ beaver. There’s been a whole whack of things done to the site and I’m absolutely thrilled with how things are working out. I’m even more thrilled by the support and participation of my Windsor area friends who’re posting games, galleries, comments, and even some leagues. More on that after I give you some of the highlights of what’s new. 1. Probably the most significant thing is the release of the Swiss Style League. Yay! I finally got it coded. The fine folks at Brimstone Games in Windsor are giving it a shot. I think there’s still time to join. All...
Greetings, my gamer friends. I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted an update and there’s a really really really good reason for that. Well, two actually. The first is that I’ve been scrambling to get the Swiss Tournament League management functionality in place to support some events at Brimstone Games. Sean has been gracious enough to give iToysoldiers a shot as a platform for running his store tournaments. For some reason I thought that the Ladder style league would be more popular but evidently I was wrong since my buddies in the Warmachine circuit and Sean have indicated that Swiss...
Greetings, fellow gamers! Here’s the week in review at iToysoldiers. First: Polarone claimed the Monthly Battle Champion award for the second time in a row. Good show, sir. Secondly, the tournament at Black Knight Games is over so I’m not going to be furiously painting my Dark Eldar… Now I’m going to be painting furiously on a gaming table so that I can run my first Apocalypse game in October. But even so, lots of fun stuff has been going on from a code perspective. Here’s some highlights: 1. I fixed the Mage Hunter achievement so it’ll actually give my Warmachine/Hordes friends achievements...
Greetings, fellow gamers! This week has been deceptively busy on iToysoldiers. Granted, I’m still painting like mad to get ready for the tournament at http://blackknightgames.ca but I’ve been able to accomplish a whole whack of things. The first is I fixed a mail problem on the server. You may have received a whole whack of queued messages on Monday. Sorry ‘bout that. It’s fixed now and that’s one major hurdle that I wanted to get out of the way before starting the War Zones in earnest. I also added two new achievements. Headhunter and...
Dark Eldar Ravager and Venom in progress
Greetings, my fellow gamers! Work on iToysoldiers has been a bit slow this week. Largely ‘cause I’m preparing for a tournament at the end of the month and I’m frantically painting up two new additions to my Dark Eldar army. Be afraid! Be very afraid. That said, I haven’t been idle. I fixed the forum signature widget so it actually displays stuff again. So if you want one too, zip on over to http://itoysoldiers.com/widgets and paste the resulting code in your forum sig. It works on all the forums that use BBcode. I’ve also been...
