Greetings, fellow gamers! Here’s the week in review at iToysoldiers. First: Polarone claimed the Monthly Battle Champion award for the second time in a row. Good show, sir. Secondly, the tournament at Black Knight Games is over so I’m not going to be furiously painting my Dark Eldar… Now I’m going to be painting furiously on a gaming table so that I can run my first Apocalypse game in October. But even so, lots of fun stuff has been going on from a code perspective. Here’s some highlights: 1. I fixed the Mage Hunter achievement so it’ll actually give my Warmachine/Hordes friends achievements...
Greetings, fellow gamers! This week has been deceptively busy on iToysoldiers. Granted, I’m still painting like mad to get ready for the tournament at http://blackknightgames.ca but I’ve been able to accomplish a whole whack of things. The first is I fixed a mail problem on the server. You may have received a whole whack of queued messages on Monday. Sorry ‘bout that. It’s fixed now and that’s one major hurdle that I wanted to get out of the way before starting the War Zones in earnest. I also added two new achievements. Headhunter and...
Dark Eldar Ravager and Venom in progress
Greetings, my fellow gamers! Work on iToysoldiers has been a bit slow this week. Largely ‘cause I’m preparing for a tournament at the end of the month and I’m frantically painting up two new additions to my Dark Eldar army. Be afraid! Be very afraid. That said, I haven’t been idle. I fixed the forum signature widget so it actually displays stuff again. So if you want one too, zip on over to http://itoysoldiers.com/widgets and paste the resulting code in your forum sig. It works on all the forums that use BBcode. I’ve also been...
I gotta say it doesn't look like much has been happening at iToysoldiers but that's not true. Not even kinda. After the Great Outage of last Friday, I've been working on getting iToysoldiers into shape. We have a new host that I have great hopes for and I'm working out the kinks. Everything is working soundly now with a few exceptions. 1. Email notifications of ITS messages aren't quite there yet. 2. The bob code widget appears to have stopped working ( not sure why yet). 3. Images posted on forums appear to be broken if they were posted before the move. This is actually my priority. It's an...
Greetings, gamers! Last week was kind of a mixed bag. I didn’t get done with nearly as much as I would’ve liked to… But I did correct some issues with war zones so that they work proper like (which means I’m almost ready to release ‘em into the wild) AND I got the Facebook app working! I’m not 100% happy with how it’s displaying on the site (if you connect your FB account to iToysoldiers you can post battles on Facebook. Nifty, eh?). Eventually I want to add more FB interaction but for now… Give it a shot and let me know what you think. So the not so good news. The site was totally useless...
share! Share! SHARE!
Oh, this is slick! If you visit one of your battles you can click, "Share on Facebook" - the one at the top - and it'll post it as a battle on Facebook. How cool is that?!?!?! I'm still working on layout and the like but it works, it shares the event with your friends, and allows for bragging rights on one of the more prevalent social networks out there. I'm so pleased. So very pleased.
I got these two models some time ago with the intent of using them as spirit hosts and then I thought they'd make good banshees as well. I decided to put little magnets into the bottom of each miniature and then I put a thin sheet of metal on a 40mm base and two 20mm bases so they can act as either a spirit host or two banshees. While the miniatures are beautiful, I wanted them to look more scary and more true to the artwork in the Vampire Counts army book. I set about grinding their pretty little faces off with an xacto and a dremel. Then I sliced off the faces from some skeleton and zombie...
