Lead Crackhead's blog

After reading and rereading the excellent rulesset for Inquisimunda over at Yak Tribe I've decided to drop everything else and start painting up Imperial forces again! Anyone unfamiliar with Inquisimunda it's an updated and expanded version of Necromunda where you play the part of a group of do gooders (if there is such a thing in the grim darkness of the far future) or do badders. The forces are usually around 10 - 15 models and the choice of different gang types is huge. So anyhoo, I painted up the following...
I was browsing the internet looking for things I can use for Necromunda and the like when I find the website Wargame Exclusive . Now I'm not sure who runs it but there are some pretty cool models on there. Mainly female ones with their tits out, but cool nontheless. Now as a fan of the 40K fluff I'm always glad to see new models set in that universe. The site has enough changes to the descriptions of the races in it to avoid C & C's from GW, but if the feminists find the site then it's gamer stereotype frenzy from...
So I managed to cross some more models off of my bare lead pile and into my coloured in area. As is my wont I like to have a variety of reasons/game systems. Here are some Treekin from games workshop. As it seems WFB is now a dead duck, I am henceforth reassigning them as Forest Shamblers for Kings of War. I have also decided that they could be Agri-world gribbleys that come out of forests and batter fairly innocent farmers to death as per Rogue Trader scenarios. Mainly, of course I will be using them as anvils (as much as you can have them) in Kings of War for both my Elven and Forces of...
My fortnightly games night featured another 2000 point Kings of War game. My opponent this time was Pat, he brought his warriors of chaos (ahem, Varangar) and I gave my previous army a little tweak and once again took the pointy ears. Here's what went down. Armies Set UpThe Armies My glorious Elven Host consisted of Minty (my dragon with an elven hero strapped onto his back), 2 Stormwind regiments, Mizzard Wodel (my elf wizard who since I've named him...
Happy New Year! In my week and a half Xmas *holliers I managed to finish some of my models. As is customary for me they have nothing really to do with what I'm playing at the moment. Any of my small group of blog followers may know I've been playing Kings Of War, so all the models I've finished are nothing to do with it. Anyway here's some pictures; First up is a Shaolin monk from Iron Mammoth Miniatures. I painted him up as **masseuse for my human Bloodbowl team. He can also be an interesting npc for Inquisimunda type games and has enough of a weird scale to make a convincing alien too...
I haven't been getting my fantasy wargame on lately mainly due to the storm of apathy that Age of Sigmar provoked in our gaming group. For a while I've been wanting to play Kings of War and last week Vinny expressed an interest. So as two experienced gamers a 2000 point demo game was the order of the day. We downloaded the free rules and it's another episode of Good vs Evil - This Time It's Personal! My Wood Elves vs Vinny's Undead. We Don't Need Your Stinkin' Tactics! Rather than bore people who read this about my non valid tactical thoughts on Kings of War, I just picked stuff that I wanted...
This notice is currently doing it's nut around the internets today. It seems like some top notch troll work to me but if it is true there could be some new ultra cool new models for some of my favourite games! The bit about "dreams and rainbows" suggests GW is looking to get in on the My Little Pony/Care Bears Christmas present market but if they bring out a decent King Redwart model and...
Another WIP post this! My hobbying has taken a rather 40Kish turn this last couple of weeks, mainly in the form of Necromunda and it's motorised form Gorkamorka. For those out of the know, Necromunda was a gang warfare in the cramped spaces of an Imperial Hive World whereas Gorkamorka was a Mad Maxesque Orks driving around fighting each other in trukks (patent pending probably) and also devolved humans and mutie raiders. I bought Gorkamorka, assembled the vehicles (ish) played a game then went on to the next flavour of the month. Then I found the rules for Necromunda in the Ash Wastes and...
The Invention of The Printing Press I have a dirty little secret. Well, not really a secret just a less frequented blog really. My other blog is a pseudo newspaper based on the goings on in a settlement called Slag Valley in Hive Primus on the Imperial planet of Necromunda. The paper's name is The Slag Valley Bullett (formerly Star). It began over 20 years ago when Necromunda first came out and a good buddy of mine called Dave was the editor (Dave was the only person I knew who had a pc that had publishing...
Adeptus Propagandaria Quarterly By Aurelis Charga Jolamn Ghites media mogul and entrepreneur has announced that his military journal is joining in a syndication contract with some of the most popular publications from several independent journalist periodicals and we at Slag Valley Bullett are pleased to announce we have been shortlisted for consideration. Providing there are no legal issues, the Slag Valley Bullett will be available to other hives and beyond...
