What would folks say to...

what if the leagues used power levels and narrative rules/missions?

I havnt joined many leagues

I havnt joined many leagues recently due to not having models i own available to me and the no proxy rule, but i dont think even if i had the models, would join a league using power levels/narrative. In no way am i suggesting anybody would do this, but the rules can be so easily exploited with the double casting of certain magic spells (2 or more warptimes would be insane and not fun to play against outside of Apoc), or double use of strategms which vary wildly from codex to codex [there isnt even 2 in the guard book i would want to use twice, but i know there are several in the custodes book i could spam in narrative] and while i dont think regular points style 40k is balanced, PL certainly are not. I like the limitations on certain things match play provides.

I agree with chief, I don't

I agree with chief, I don't think it's a good idea. I definitely would not play if this was implemented.

Power levels also mean heavy

Power levels also mean heavy weapon and special weapon units are king

I wouldn't be against using

I wouldn't be against using narrative missions, but in a competitive sense matched play rules would need to be used
