Farseer Gelladrill had observed the attempted raid of Pur'la Sept on the Imperial planet of Scargill with great interest. Their motives seemed unclear but it would appear that the Tau were attempting to form a beachhead and eventually bring the planet to 'The Greater Good'. This in itself was inconsequential to Ulthwe but there were more factors to consider. Waargh Gitsmasha was closing in on Scargill and though the Tau were currently hostile to the humans on the planet a large scale force of Orks would probably result in an alliance. Despite the Tau defeat against the Scargill PDF, there was...
I went down to Co Clare for a couple of days last week and this blog hit over 100,000 views. While I was visiting the Father Ted house people were clicking links and hopefully reading things they enjoyed. After 195 posts (10 are still in the draft stage) my blog has gotten into 6 digits! A big thanks to everyone who reads my entries and an even bigger thanks to those who have subscribed, it means a lot to see people like what I'm doing. Also just as some actual hobby news I decided to try to help fund this kickstarter from Blind Beggar Miniatures...
Following two previous skirmishes involving the disgusting minions of Nurgle, Farseer Gelladrill was once more forced to intercede on a minor Imperial planet, in High Gothic it was known as Triumphant Fanfare or something similar but in the common vernacular of the locals it was something far less inspirational. The planet itself was a small if somewhat heavily industrialized place filled with surly humans choking on the highly polluted atmosphere crushed by the monotonous drudgery of their short brutal lives. It made them ripe for the ruinous powers to subvert them. A cult had formed,...
Greetings. Quite a while back, whilst I was playing Inquisimunda I decided to create an Eldar pirate band to terrorise the galaxy with. I had for a long time been a keen Eldar collector (can't really say player as I only had a couple of games of 40K) and kept promising myself I'd stop buying models and paint up what I had. I converted* some Eldar Guardian models and hey presto! I had a warband. That was about 2 years ago...
Just a quick post. Recently I finished the Mantic scenery below and thought I'd show it off. I bought a large box of Mantic scenery about a year and a half ago and I'm only just getting round to finishing my first piece! It will fit in well with my ever increasing collection of things to clutter up my garage/loft. Landing area 98. It will use the same rules as the Skyshield Landing Pad only for a fraction of...
Greetings. Another day another blog post. This is a very short one as I thought I'd put up my newly varnished Ratlings. Not much to say about these models except they are filling out my sniper unit to 10, fully painted models. These models were previously Dettoled and hastily stripped so there are still a few lumpy bits on them, hence no very close ups. If nothing else these models will hopefully spell the demise of more than a few Orks in the upcoming campaign...
To further mire myself in the narrative campaign that hasn't yet started, I thought I'd write some backstorys for my characters in the upcoming hostilities. Hopefully the characters below will only be the first of many fleshed out ideas that will come from the battles to be fought over the next few months. Farg Woolstrop Farg is the supreme commander of the Krablokistan 47th regiment. Although he is a loyal servant of the Imperium and a dedicated adherent to the Imperial Cult he has found himself at odds with both Rouboute Gullimann and Saint Celestine in the now infamous Mitigation of...
As I alluded to in my previous post, myself and Dylan are embarking on a campaign. To me the campaign is the epitome of war-gaming so I'm pretty stoked. It's going to be set on an as yet unnamed Imperial planet. The combatants are Astra Militarum (probably the Krablokistan 47th) and the Orks of Waaagh Gitsmasha. Dylan is providing the fluff and I will write updates as I am able. Hopefully the campaign will be similar to the Andy Chambers narrative campaign from the 90's White Dwarfs which I will try to dig out to get a better feel for that sort of thing...
Farseer Gelladrill had cast the runes of fate for the third time and the result was the same. She kept discerning the sign of the death of Aeldari. Tracing back the threads of causality it was clear that a combined force of Ultramarines and Crimson Fist Astartes were about to attack a smaller force of Tau on the contested planet of Gabbrodon Theta. This in itself was of no great consequence but if her reading of the runes were correct they would then advance towards one of Ulthwé's maiden worlds and that could not be allowed. What further complicated the endevour was the craftworld was...
My first Dire Avenger Squad has been completed! This post is merely to display them and allow me to chalk them off my 'to do' list. They have actually seen action against a combined force of Ultramarines and Crimson Fists and acquitted themselves quite well. They are a pretty decent troop choice for the Eldar as they have a high rate of fire and enhanced overwatch. The models below have had their first coat of varnish (gloss) so they look a bit shiny. Once the second coat of mat varnish goes on they will look better methinks. I'm now waiting for an unseasonably warm spell due to my encounter...
