Good evening (or whatever). Some more painted toy soldiers to display! More Aeldari. This time I have finished 10 Swooping Hawks. I have used these models in their less aesthetically pleasing undercoated and wingless versions but now here they are in their full dropping grenades on the unsuspecting then opening up with their highly shooty glory. Long ago when I purchased these lads Games Workshop in their wisdom put 5 identical models in their blister packs, hence ten models with only two poses. So painting this squad wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs but I managed to power through after a...
Salutations. After a lot of life type distractions I have finished some more models. As the last few games I've played were all Genestealer Cults orientated, I naturally finished up some Eldar. Here's the blurb.... Scouts of Ulthwe So as I've gone with Ulthwe as my craftworld of choice I needed to get some troop slots filled in. I used some black primer some grey drybrushing and some sepia ink for the white weapons. One of my faster turnarounds. Of course I had to emphasise something so I thought the luxurious leather knee length boots would give these guys the impression of rugged outdoorsie...
Greetings. After some laziness hobby wise I have finished up my Genestealer Cult Killteam. Feel free to make up a suitably impressive name as I'm at a loss at the moment. They posed for this publicity picture following an impressive arse kicking given out to some Orks. A batrep may well be on the way. The cult's magus lurks in the corner being sneaky. Thanks for reading.
Howdy. A quick post to display all those last minute additions to my painted model family for 2018. Last year I managed a review of the year, not sure I will achieve one this year so this may be a slight nod in that direction too. Firstly, here are completed toy soldiers; Imperial Preacher After recent games I've noticed that my Catachan troops aren't all that bad in combat with their strength of 4. Give them a preacher and they get an extra attack so doubling their effectiveness. Giving them the order Fix Bayonets improves their shit-kicking ability even further. So a bloke with a sword and...
Greetings people of Earth! It's been a few months since I put some painted models on here but now I'm back! 2018 was shaping up to be one of my most productive years ever as far as painting models was concerned (well it was back in July), then I got caught up playing games and writing batreps so the production line ceased. I played a few games of Killteam which were great craic but as my Stealers weren't painted up I didn't feel the need to report them here. I may do, but not today. Aeldari Support First up are my Aeldari. Two support weapon crewelfs, two Aeldari missile launchers and a...
Farseer Gelladrill had observed the attempted raid of Pur'la Sept on the Imperial planet of Scargill with great interest. Their motives seemed unclear but it would appear that the Tau were attempting to form a beachhead and eventually bring the planet to 'The Greater Good'. This in itself was inconsequential to Ulthwe but there were more factors to consider. Waargh Gitsmasha was closing in on Scargill and though the Tau were currently hostile to the humans on the planet a large scale force of Orks would probably result in an alliance. Despite the Tau defeat against the Scargill PDF, there was...
I went down to Co Clare for a couple of days last week and this blog hit over 100,000 views. While I was visiting the Father Ted house people were clicking links and hopefully reading things they enjoyed. After 195 posts (10 are still in the draft stage) my blog has gotten into 6 digits! A big thanks to everyone who reads my entries and an even bigger thanks to those who have subscribed, it means a lot to see people like what I'm doing. Also just as some actual hobby news I decided to try to help fund this kickstarter from Blind Beggar Miniatures...
Following two previous skirmishes involving the disgusting minions of Nurgle, Farseer Gelladrill was once more forced to intercede on a minor Imperial planet, in High Gothic it was known as Triumphant Fanfare or something similar but in the common vernacular of the locals it was something far less inspirational. The planet itself was a small if somewhat heavily industrialized place filled with surly humans choking on the highly polluted atmosphere crushed by the monotonous drudgery of their short brutal lives. It made them ripe for the ruinous powers to subvert them. A cult had formed,...
Greetings. Quite a while back, whilst I was playing Inquisimunda I decided to create an Eldar pirate band to terrorise the galaxy with. I had for a long time been a keen Eldar collector (can't really say player as I only had a couple of games of 40K) and kept promising myself I'd stop buying models and paint up what I had. I converted* some Eldar Guardian models and hey presto! I had a warband. That was about 2 years ago...
Just a quick post. Recently I finished the Mantic scenery below and thought I'd show it off. I bought a large box of Mantic scenery about a year and a half ago and I'm only just getting round to finishing my first piece! It will fit in well with my ever increasing collection of things to clutter up my garage/loft. Landing area 98. It will use the same rules as the Skyshield Landing Pad only for a fraction of...
