Kickstarter

I went down to Co Clare for a couple of days last week and this blog hit over 100,000 views. While I was visiting the Father Ted house people were clicking links and hopefully reading things they enjoyed. After 195 posts (10 are still in the draft stage) my blog has gotten into 6 digits! A big thanks to everyone who reads my entries and an even bigger thanks to those who have subscribed, it means a lot to see people like what I'm doing. Also just as some actual hobby news I decided to try to help fund this kickstarter from Blind Beggar Miniatures...
Hot on the heels of my previous post, you know, the one with the crap genestealer cult, comes this amaaazzing post with regard to paining things up in a timely manner! WARNING! some of the models below have been purchased THIS YEAR and have not sat on my 'to paint' table for nigh on 18 years. I must apologise for this as, no sooner do i rename my blog, I make a complete liar of myself by painting models up quickly. to be fair though, they are not over complex models drowning in their own detail, so that is why. The Thumb Of The Emperor Several Halloweens ago I found in the kids costume...
Trying not to succumb but I may have to purchase the Deathroller in this campaign. My other dwarf team is still awaiting paint love but as anyone who knows me and my model addiction, Lemmy's word ring true ; the chase is better than the catch. In othe news, I deleted my Google + account as it seemed one social media outlet too far. I have also undercoated some of my Sci Fi civilians to wander aimlessly around my as yet unbuilt Spaceport. As any Rogue Trader fan knows, most nefarious acts of sabotage, rebellion, investigation and retribution occur there!Until next time, adieu.
Update on lots of things As with these sort of things life and other activity can get in the way of updating a blog. Not to say I have not been busy with gaming activity because I have and some of which can be seen on my Facebook blog of the same name (easier to update on the fly and with short snip-its) Trying to paint up my Black Plague base set, the extras and expansions from the KS are still in the big box they came in but look great and sure I will get them all done one day! (I better before Massive Darkness delivers otherwise I might drown in plastic)...
I have been increasing my pile of unpainted far quicker than I have been either painting or getting things painted and I need to reverse this trend! I have a fair few Kickstarters out there still to come as well so I have decided to not purchase any more miniatures without selling something I have! well lets see how I do... I have also recently added majorly to my terrain collection for a number of eras/genres And have lots to build and paint. I also need to limit any new rule books I acquire... not gaming enough with the ones I have, although I am tempted by the This is not a test or TNT...
So I have been meaning to assemble and share a couple of gates if you will! These were procured for me by a friend who did the Fantasy kickstarter below (unfortunately they were not part of the Sci fi one that I took part in). https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1621774283/battle-systemstm-fantasy-dungeon-terrain/posts/1090831 Think they look good and just need to get them on the table top in the near future....
Been awhile since I had something to post here, I have been very active on my facebook blog page but nothing there has really been big enough to replicate here and I haven't had the time to do another catch up duplication of what is posted there, so apologies for that. Today was another Essex Warriors Club day in Writtle Essex. I played a couple of games of Dreadball - loosing both by landslides! First game was Veer-myn vs Orx, I lost in the final action of the 14th rush when they made a heroic 4 pointer to achieve a landslide (obviously this means I had already lost the game but good effort...
So I have mostly finished those WIP hot wheels conversion I showed earlier, I say mostly as I decided on a whim to repaint one completely and to add off colour panels to others to help show the sort of cobbled together mismatch vehicles likely to be found in a post apocalyptic wasteland (I doubt professional body shops and paint stylists are easy to come by) The road is the print out from the demo pdf for Route 666 scaled to fit A4...
Whilst I wait for the recently ended kickstarter Route 666 I decided to do something I have considered doing for years, converting Hot wheels for use in mad max style post apoc gaming! These are some of my first attempts none of which are yet finished. Two front machine guns and some rear armour, tempted to leave this one as is....
