Finally finished my table today (minus minor cleanup)
Me and my father who is much more handy than me spent about 15 hours on it. We started off with an old wooden bed frame we had around his house from when i was a kid. We cut it down to size (6x4), and the original plan was to just sit a piece of plywood inside the frame. While doing the project however, my grandmothers kitchen flooded and they redid her house so we got a bunch of kitchen floor tiles for free, and decided to use them as both playing surface and for the outside edges of the board to disguise the old bedframe. To me it looks like the surface is a desert world now, though ill still prolly buy a ice themed mat at some point as it matches my eldar bases.
For legs we used some cabinets from lowes my father had lying around his garage. We that didnt prove stable enough i bought a second set of the same cabinets that let us have 3 shelfing units under the table tholding it up. We also filled the legs with mortor giving it better horizontal stability.
All that space under the table WILL be filled with both scenery and ridiculous amounts of warhammer i currently have in a closet that i want to use for something else.
